Default bank delaying BACS payment then making charges

Has anyone else experienced this? Sorry if thats a naive question but I haven't eyt made my way round the whole site. I checked online that my pay had gone in to my A & L current account on the due date the other month (it usually regsiters soon after midnight & should then count as real money in your account). As it had been paid I went online again in the morning & ordered all my xmas presents online as I had funds to cover it.
It took me a while to happen to notice, checking that month's charges again, that AFTER I had made online payments hours after my pay went in, the bank had rejigged the order of payments that day, putting my BACS payment last & therefore charging me for going over my overdrafticon. I checked some more, and have also found examples of the bank charging for going over my overdraft limit to pay a direct debiticon which WOULDNT have taken me over that limit. e.g. debit for £80, £100 left in overdraft, but £25 charge made BEFORE debit is logged, meaning I go over limit! Has anyone esle experenced this? For me the BACS thing is tantamount to fraud as they consciously changed the order of events & I'm considering taken legal action. Any thoughts gratefully received. (To give you a context I'm a single working parent overwhelmed with debts & getting hit so hard by A & L every month I didn't even notice these cheats for a while.
    Thanks, Morag

Something similar happened to me in that i transferred money from my linked savings account then went to the shops and drew the money out and they reversed the order although one might ask how I could draw money that isn't there? they also added charges and as I already have a complaint about bank charges active at the moment I just added it to the list. Although I have to say since then this has not happened again so I don't know if its random they do this or if its cause I've complained that they have stopped?

They did it to me as well.... put a late payment marker on my credit file because they reversed the arrangement of the transactions, despite it had been done in that order since i opened the account and when I questioned why they had randomly decided to do it that month they said 'Because we can.'
Needless to say fosicon ordered them to remove. Its totally random it seems... never had any problems since and they've never attempted to charge me either...

Banks will always post debits against an account before credits, it's an internal (revenue raising) policy it has happened on my accounts, but we have never been charged due to debits taking us overdrawn on the day a salary was posted, cannot understand how this is justified?
