Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
OK ive done it and sent my story to the Sunday Times this is what i have written:
Dear Georgia
I understand you are looking for people who have suffered Harassment.
I'm not sure if the Sunday Times would be interested in my case but I'm
writing this as I feel it is one just as important involving Payment
Protection Insurance and I feel it needs coverage in the press.
As you may well be aware the bad selling practices are becoming just as big
an issue as the selling of Endownment Insurance Policies was you only have
to look in the papers every day and see the amount of re-claim companies
advertising for the business.
I feel that these companies offer a service that many people can do
themselves and save on average 25% while they are at it !!!!.
Now i will go on to tell you about my case although i cant go into great
detail as i would need about 10 pages plus it is now in the hands of the
Financial Ombudsman Service.
I have a Bank Account with the Co-operative Bank PLC my bank account has an
authorized overdraft facility of £420 but out of that £380 of it is unfair
bank charges as they will not refund these charges my account is in dispute
pending the outcome of the OFT High Court Case.
Now in my 24 yrs as a Co-operative Bank Customer i have had a total of 9
Unsecured Loans all of which have had Payment Protection Insurance added
upfront and attracted contractual interest of various APR's over the course
of the loan.
When it became known to me in July 2008 that there was a possibility that
these could of been Mis-Sold i decided to look into it further and found out
that because i had a stroke in 1990 and now have various symptoms of that
stroke including High Blood Pressure this policies would be useless to me.
At no time was i asked questions or indeed send a needs and assessment
questionnaire to ascertain if the policies would be suitable.
So i started the rocky road of trying to get the cost of these refunded but
of many letters to and throw we reached deadlock and i referred it to the
Financial Ombudsman Service.
Now because my Loan Account is linked to my Current Account i.e. Same Number
plus an extra two added for Loans plus the fact my current account balance
stands at around the £600 mark the Co-operative Bank PLC are constantly
harassing me putting pressure on my current account as a way to stop me
claiming back my PPI.
I get phone calls at all times of the day from 8am in the morning to 10 pm
at night, letters nearly every day pretty yellow envelopes hand written with
a calling card inside saying that POWER2CONTACT will call on me,
tele-messages.
As I've had a stroke and suffer with hypertension i find this quite
distressing.
The Co-operative Bank owe me a total of £19,047.21 at 8% statutory or
£25,867.13 Contractual in Mis-sold PPI
yet they can carry on harassing me on a small amount of money which is in
dispute anyway ?
I have sent many letters to get them to stop this criminal offence but they
all go ignored they seem to think that they are above the law.
The above figures do not include any settlement that has to come off but as
to this day they have failed to prove these figures to me so as such i am
claiming the lot until they do.
I do hope you can bring this to the forefront as you only have to look at
the PPI Forum on www.consumeractiongroup.c o.uk to get a picture of how big
this issue is you can also find my thread here:
If any of my posts are helpful, please feel free to click my scales. All information is given as my opinion only, based on my own personal experiences. I have no legal training, but have educated myself in aspects of consumer legislation. My motto "NEVER GIVE IN, NEVER SURRENDER", THERE IS A WAR ON YOU KNOW
Excellent approach (commendable) to draw yet more attention to the PPI issue and the way the banks respond with absolute disregard to the individual involved and any personal issues or needs they have. IE You claim back PPI and we will make life as difficult as we possibly can for you while you are going through the legal process.
Fingers crossed for publication or a contact from them to get the nitty gritty details for the front page
Good luck

Barclays. Paid up today 24/04/10 cheque received for over £4,500 and in the bank.
LTSB still have to decide on this as their SAR production was abysmal. Papers data mixed up documents missing etc
Please do not PM me for advice as it may be sometime before I can respond.
Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
