Barclay Card debt now passed to CONNAUGHT COLLECTIONS UK LTD
I would be very grateful for any advice on what to do next. Barclaycard passed my debt to 1st credit who threatened to put a charging order on my property. On the 23rd July I sent a CCA request which 1st Credit acknowledged and said they would deal with.
I have not received credit agreement and heard nothing until today when I received a letter from Connaught Collections Uk Ltd who say they have been instructed by 1st Credit Ltd. They state that it is their intention to issue a statutory demand under Insolvency Act 1986 unless I pay in full within 7 days!
Any help gladly accepted.
Send a copy to Connaught Coll'ns as well telling them, if they proceed with any collection action, they will be reported to the fos for breach of the OFT Guidelines on debt collection.
Have you reclaimed any penalty charges on this a/c yet.
Any help and advice is offered in good faith, based solely on my own knowledge and on experience gathered from this site. I am not qualified to offer legal or financial advice, which you should seek from an expert before making any important decisions. My opinions are therefore offered without liability.
Re: Barclay Card debt now passed to CONNAUGHT COLLECTIONS UK LTD
Thanks for your reply I have claimed charges but Barclaycard only paid difference of charge and £12.
Today I received a letter from 1st credit who advise me that unregulated Forums which they are very familiar with can be most unreliable.
They go on to say they are only obliged to supply a 'copy of the executed agreement' as defined by CCA reg1983.
They say they have fulfilled this obligation by supplying a copy of terms & conditions which they enclosed.
They have sent me a copy of a priority application which says Simply sign and return
My name address and signature is on the front.
Stapled to this is a sheet headed
BARCLAY CARD CONDITIONS CREDIT CARD AGREEMENT REGULATED BY THE CONSUMER CREDIT ACT 1974
Key financial Information
AMOUNT OF CREDIT we will tell you when you receive your Barclaycard
MONTHLY REPAYMENTS you must make minimum repayment every month normally 25 days after you receive your statement date.
APR not applicable
I know it would be easier to scan this and let you clever people tell me if this is enforceable but I do not have a scanner. I' hoping somebody out there has received the same thing and can help me.
Would it be possible for somebody to advise me of my next move. Thank you very much.

Re: Barclay Card debt now passed to CONNAUGHT COLLECTIONS UK LTD
Hi slick 132 Sorry I didn't answer your question, guess I am panicing about this now.
The total charges on this account are £852 + interest of £244.02 total £1096.02
Barclay card say charges are £738.72 including 8% interest which they have credited to the account.
I will try to get somebody to scan agreement for me but in the meantime do I take dispute back to Barclays?
