Hello everyone, can anyone offer me a bit of advice please.
A few years back i had an Egg credit card that i had PPI on it
Thinking back they really pressured me into taking the PPI and wouldn't take no for an answer.
Anyway i have a pre existing medical condition and at no point that i can remember did they ask me about this or any other of the excluding factors.
After paying the PPI for a couple of years i managed to get them to cancel the PPI after writing to them numerous times saying i didnt want to keep paying for this when i couldnt afford it.
I'm now wondering if i would have the right to try and reclaim all the payments i made, due to the new rulings on mis -selling this product?
If i do, would i need to write to them asking how much money i actually paid as i dont have a copy of all the old statements.
Hope someone can help me.
Thanks lots
Livis
When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition, they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to have happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI Insurance has been sorted. Now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.

Thankyou for replying. I will get SAR letter off to them asap.
Do you think it will matter that the account is now being paid at a reduced level as it went to a debt collector?
Thanks

Thats good then
Also if i have 2 cards with them will they need £10 for each, or will that letter cover all my accounts ?
Start your letters, so....
Dear Sir/Madam
ACCOUNT (1) xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
ACCOUNT (2) xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
your name Livis
They are duty bound to provide you with everything (held in a relevant filing system) that is relevant to you personally. However, they sometimes play silly beggars so by putting the 2 account numbers you are helping them out here and giving them no opportunity to say at a later date .. well Livis only asked for details regarding the one account !!
The one £10.00 will cover the both accounts.
It is generally held that you shouldnt sign any letters or paperwork to Banks or DCAs, however inasmuch as they can and are getting quite sn*tty about signatures demanding them in fact, you would be well advised to sign.. however, make your signature slightly different to how you would normally do so and keep a copy (photocopy the page you have signed) so you can check it against any documents you might receive.
