The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
i have sent off the dpa for my boyfriend for cap one. Only trouble is he has been sent to a debt collectors - Newtons for the amount of £1200 they are now refusing anything other than full payment of the debt or 3 installments of £400. I am going to get him to call them back tonight am i right in thinking if there is a dispute on the account they cannot take him to court?
Correct - advise Newtons the amount is in dispute, if any questions they should refer to cap one. Ensure your bf still at least makes minimum payments (or even a token payment) each month, however.
