dx100uk -v-HFC Acount 1a PPI Reclaim *****WON*****
what is the score with reclaiming PPI on an existing HFC loan [typical 2005 agreement where box is already ticked on my agreement]
is there still the mass claim going on?
cannot find the thread or details anymore.

yep still around
no, i've got all the original paperwork
i just remember somewhere there was a thread or 'someone/body' that was getting up a mass complaint or WHY.
but if its back to individuals doing it, then i should be able to deal.
i did have a good look around, but came up dead.

I was contacted through the forum from solicitor who were gathering information against HFC and missold PPI,and looking to launch a mass complaint pre2005, however nothing ever came of it...I'm in the same boat with HFC although cant seem to find many success yet..Gc

i have today sent this letter:
I have been a customer with you for more than 20yrs & I am saddened to recently discover, through advice given to me by a financial adviser, that you have consistently & dishonestly sold me unnecessary Payment Protection Insurance on more than one occasion in association to personal loans taken out with your Company.
I now wish you to investigate my complaints as detailed below in accordance with your normal complaint procedures. With Ref to A/C numbers:
************ pre 1993
************ Nov 1993
************ May 2004
************ April 2005 to today
Please note than prior to 1994 I resided at *********************.
I sight the following reasons that I wish you to consider with regard to my complaint:
I have worked for local Govt in same est since 1982 and through their scheme I will get paid if long term sick, it was never explained to me that effectively, this made your PPI totally unnecessary.
I was always made to believe taking your PPI would assist me in getting the loan approved & that i would not receive such a good rate of interest if i did not agree to the PPI being included.
In particular, I make ref to those premiums associated to A/C’s ***************
When I took out an additional loan **************] before my previous loan [***********] was completed. The outstanding balance of ************ [some £1970.37] was deducted from **********, this included existing PPI with the added front loaded interest. This balance then had additional interest charged on it from the new load & I was further instructed to take out a new PPI for *********, this I would need to do or l would not get approval as my loan had been cleared early.
If my complaint is upheld, I require a full refund of all premiums paid on the loan policies listed above, this shall include the additional interest charged to me on a monthly rate as a result of the front loading practice of your PPI scheme.
I also claim the 8% statutory compensation in view of the fact that I have been deprived of the use of this money.
With regard to my current business with your Company, should my complaint be upheld, I require you to deduct the aforementioned sums from *********** and inform me of the balance required for early closure as i no longer wish to bank with you.
Please now investigate my complaint within the eight weeks allowed to you.
We too had all our paperwork and sent them the obligatory letter off on 9th Jan and got a rely back on 20th saying they would refund us our full PPI policy and interest - they advised 6-8 weeks for refund to be processed and issued. Not too bad for a price of a registered letter - not having much luck with most of the others I sent off but they do include the dreaded First Plus. Good luck with your claim!

re: dx100uk -v-HFC ppi *****WON*****
well time for an update.
just looked on my bank A/C and the DD for HFC has dropped to without PPI payment level, so looks like they have coughed!!!
so i should be getting approx £60PCM dating back to apr 2005 taken of my loan with them.
anyone give me an idea of the figure i should be looking at please? cant get my head around the ppi calculator.
as in my letter above i have asked for the int + the stat 8% on top so should be a pretty sum.
as for the earlier loans , i have already had an offer of <50% on one from 2004, but that was their calc error so things are moving on.

re: dx100uk -v-HFC ppi *****WON*****
now in relation to the image in post 8 [edit said 3!]
i have heard nothing on this other than we are investigaing,. 3 letters now.
they dropped the payment [thus excluding the PPI] in apr 2009 but have not had the refund.
now going back over my CRA files back till 2005 the PPI has never shown in the total loan balance, i'e from 1st cra record the loan was only 15k, [not 21k]
weird , so i prob wont get back what i could of been expecting as from the agreement in post 3 if i am right it has not had int adding to it monthly.
so its just £41.45 may 05 - mar 09 + 8%. = £2059.23
can someone confirm my thoughts??

Hi,
I paid upfront PPI £1200 with £813 interest, they have offered to refund me £1200 PPI plus PPI interest paid £579.51 minus £275,63 cash rebate for early repayment plus 8% interest £514.16.
Dont yet know which date they are calculating the interest from, I believe it should be from day 1 and not from when I complained
The fos told me that the interest is calculated on a daily basis and very complicated.
They are looking at a shortfall of £184 extra interest charged before they decide how much I'm entitled to be refunded..Gc

Yes the interest at 8% should be from day one until they settle.

Bank charge successes:
Halifax - Full settlement incl interest.
HSBC - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 75% of claim.
RBS - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 70% of claim.
2 ongoing claims for bank charges with HSBC with more to come. (Supreme Court ruling could have upset these claims) They did
PPI Successes
PPI 4 settlements on 9 loans. FOS involvement on 7 added on the 8 % Statutory interest another 30% to both.
2 claims settled in full with LV without FOS involvement.
2 claims settled in full with HSBC without FOS involvement
PPI Claims ongoing with:
Cap one Now with the FOS
Barclays. Paid up today 24/04/10 cheque received for over £4,500 and in the bank.
LTSB still have to decide on this as their SAR production was abysmal. Papers data mixed up documents missing etc
Please do not PM me for advice as it may be sometime before I can respond.
Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.

IMO you should now go back and fight tooth and nail especially if your loan was within the dates mentioned in my earlier post.

most certainly is see top image post 14.
my concerns are [on the other loans that i have agreements for and bank statements of payment etc] they made their final decisions not to repay PPI as they have distroyed the paperwork etc etc on may 7th this year
my 6mts to take them to the FOC is about to run out.
with the loan above, that i am seeking settlement figure , does the figure [regardless of the ppi reclaim on it look correct]
i think they are wrong.

I am not a person good with figures, but I would suggest you should send an acceptance with the proviso it is a part acceptance only and that you would intend to pursue any additional moneys that may be due on your claim for mis-selling. This I only advise as you state time is running out. You can accept but then go back and ask for them to produce all the relevant paperwork showing how they arrived at the settlement figures.
