Default Black Horse (Car loan) PPI claim

Hi, can anyone help me please? We took out a car loan through a car dealer in March 2004 which we then paid off in December 2004. Now I wrote a letter to both the car dealer and Black Horse telling them I was trying to claim back the PPIicon on this policy due to: 1. Being self employed at the time. 2. I was not asked about previous medical conditions. 3. I was told that I needed to take the PPI out to get the loan. 4. I was not told that it was optional.

Now the car dealer has written back and said they will not consder any settlement due to the fact that we took out and terminated this policy befroe they were regulated.
Black Horse wrote back saying that all of this would have been discussed prior to us signing the agreement, they say they enclosed a copy of the agreement (which they didnt!) and they will not be issuing any refund.

Can anyone tell me what we should do now?

    Hello Jessie,

Well, that was a extremely short and straight to the point response from them.

As they have stated the FSA probably did not regulate them at that time in 2004, but they must have been regulated by some governing body or they would not have been in business.

Write back to them and express your disappointment at their reply and demand to know who regulated them at the point of sale.

Demand to know the commission paid to the car dealership they paid, as an incentive.

Demand your ppi to be refunded with interesticon, or you will take them to court.
