Default PPI - newbie, Do I have a claim?

    Hi guys.

I am new to PPIicon Forum. Don't really know much about it, although am aware from the last few loans that I have had what it is etc.

I have had various loans over the years, Blackhorse in 2003. Northern Rockicon in 2007. BOSicon in 2007. Tenant Loan 2007.

Everytime I open a newspaper etc, there are adverts for claims on PPI. How do I find out if PPI was ever added onto loans I had in previous years?

Were companies just adding them on at some point?

    Thanks, dumb newbie... aka Rachel

    Hiya RachM,

Welcome to this brilliant forum where there are loads of fantastic people that can guide you in the process.

Firstly yes there are many adverts in the press regarding this like there was for endowment policies but why use the services of these companies which will take a chunk out of any successful claim when you can do it yourself there is a wealth of information here and template letters you can use.

Right now thats said lets get you on the road of claiming what you have paid back.

Your first port of call will be the stickys at the top of this PPIicon forum which holds lots of information of the bad selling practices etc i recommend that you read those first and some of the other peoples posts as it will give you a good understanding of the process as i say load your gun first!!!!!!!!

Now do you have your agreements as you will need these do not worry if you dont ill point you in the right direction to get them.

You need to send of a S.A.R letter to get hold of everything the lender holds on you this can be agreements, statements recordings of phone callsicon etc.

There is a template in the stickys for this you will need to incude a £10 fee with the letter as they are legally able to charge this to search there records.

Also send these letters via recorded delivery and get a receipt of postage you may need that later.

By law you have to allow them 40+2 days 2 days being postage time to do the search so mark a calender the day you sent it all of.

Well that's your first step remember we are here to help you we have all been in the same position as you and now help others if you have anymore questions or require more help you know where we are.

    Good Luck

    Regards
