Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
After my resounding success over RBS and my refund of the PPI I had on my loan I have taken on another, this isn't mine but my mother's, as she is retired (along with my father) she has no idea how to deal with this sort of thing!
Back in May 2006 she had a loan with the Britannia BS, I was actually in the room at the time when she got this loan, they sold her a PPI when both she and my father are retired (both over 65 when the loan was taken out) and also stated (bear in mind I witnessed this also) that she HAD to take this out to GET the loan!
Now thats just two reasons of mis-sold PPI, firstly they couldn't claim on it because they are retired so it rendered the policy void anyway and also you don't HAVE to take out a PPI to get a loan!
Anyway she has recently settled this loan so I have taken over to see if I can reclaim the FULL PPI, they did give her a refund of around £600 (on the PPI) when she settled but looking at the figures this is not acceptable at all!
Already paid 31 @ £255.59 = £7923.29
Settled in full on last month figure of around £6000
PPI: £3,582.00 including interest!
As you can see £600 is rather pathetic so a letter will be going of to them to start the ball rolling to claim back the full amount of the PPI with interest!
Wish me luck again and I will keep everyone updated!

Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
My parents recieved a letter yesterday from Bank of Scotland (thats who the PPI was through apparently) and it looks promising, I don't have the letter myself but I read it and it basically stated:
We are looking at your claim and have decided that my parents do have a point being over 65 (not that they can argue this) and they accept no liability (usual) however they will be writing again with an offer within the next four weeks.
So it looks like there maybe a result coming my way for this PPI claim, I will keep you all updated on what offer they make when the letter arrives
Sorry for the massive delay in posting about this one, my mum won ALL of her money back..
I cannot recall the exact amount but it was around £3,500.00, they didn't argue anything at all just sent her the offer and she accepted which anyone would
