Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Just before Christmas, doing a delivery to London EC3
Big Mercedes Tractor Unit, and 45 foot trailer, managed the evils of the one way system to where I was supposed to be delivering, but road was blocked by another lorry unloading, well, couldnt get past him, and couldnt reverse, there would have been no point, so sat there with engine running and Haz lights on. Silly red band warden started to issue a parking ticket !
Told him, I wasnt parked, engine running, could he not see I couldnt drive through an unloading lorry?(Didnt tell him I wanted to unload about 100 yards away)
English not being his native language, had a problem with this, so I let him get on with it, taking photos etc, but did occassionally blow the air brakes, and creep forawrd an inch or so.
We did receive a notice, which company solicitors took up and said that they would go to court on this., we await, with pleasure, the outcome
LOL - from the title post I was expecting a description of 'silly dressed' wardens (perhaps for the festive season).
Still the red band is something - guess it stands for 'red route' stopping you from parking on them - lol
Do these wardens not have to pass an intelligence test! - obviously not - lol
I think the resolve would be that if you appeal a ticket and are successful - then they should pay you the value of the ticket as well as cancel you fine - lol
Might make them think a little more logically before issuing one!

Anyone remember the Dom Jolly scenes where he issued tickets to drivers stuck in traffic.
Me thinks this is now the CEO training video '' Triger happy tickets'' LOL
Could turn out to be expensive for Wrdens
My time at scene 1 hour £25
Co Solicitors about £500 to prepare
" " in Court say 2500
Me at hearing 250
Plus expenses 300
so about £4000 in costs !
I know now why Wardens have a red/yellow band round their hats
Red/Yellow band means you cant park there !
shame cos 38 tonnes of lorry woulnt 'alf run their hairdo !

Its amazing that a 'proffesional' driver does not know that a) Parking tickets do not go to court and b) you stand about much chance of getting expenses as you would seeing a Traffic Warden working in the City

Old rolleyes again.
Alas rolleyes is correct, however i have an ajudication whereby a warden blatently lied and issued a fraudulent ticket. It was by the grace of the appealent pressent that it was decided not to involve the police for fraud.
The warden was duly sacked for gross miss conduct, the lying snivelling pea brained twerp

In this case the pcn not fraudulent it was given for waiting which the driver admits he was doing, having the engine running or hazards lights on despite what some people think does not somehow invalidate a parking ticket.

I think the op would be classed as stuck in traffic, what the hell is a lorry in this situation supposed to do, fly.
Oh dear, I started this just as an observation on the stupidity of london traffic wardens
A) Yes as regards an action, was stuck in non moving traffic ie couldnt progress down the street as passage was obstructed therefore not parked, and as yet do not have a VToL lorry!
B) We have appealed and won on several occassions when vehicles unloading, ok the costs idea was perhaps a wonderful dream and wishful thinking.
The point was that so many of London Wardens, or whatever they are called have absolutely zero capability of logical observation and thought

And your point was indeed well made - with the help of some idiot of a warden!
Come to think of it - it wouldn't suprise me at all, if the current idiot running(?) this country ensures that all traffic lights remain red for at least 5 mins to be able to issue tickets to ALL motorists (just to help with his borrowing/spending plans) - lol
And of course the political spin on this announcment will be focussed on the fact that he is abolishing the congestion charge - with no mention to the fact above (stealth taxes rule - lol)
