    Default Land of Leather/Creation Finance

    Hello,

This is a complaint that I am helping a friend with. It will be an interesting one of that I am sure.

This friend bought a leather suite in 2006 for £999. They were rather niave in financial matter, as most of us were, before we educated ourselves.

She was having some financial problems and she asked me to have a look at things for her.

She showed me the credit agreement for the couches, I asked her if she knew that they had applied PPIicon, and she didn't know they had.

At the point of sale, nothing whatsoever was discussed regarding ppi

    Ok

    The suite cost £999
    interesticon on loan £890.62

    ppi cost £390.97
    interest on ppi £348.55
    warranty £200
    interest on warranty £178.30

    Total payable £3,007.44

    APR 29.8%

This thread is about informing others about the sorts of responses that you are expected to get from Land of Leather (Brokers) and the loan company. You can guess absolute denials!!!!!!!!!!from both and especially land of leather, who have just been fined heavily by the fsa!!!!!!!!!!!

There are a few issues to explore in this case.

    Misold PPIicon
    Commission based selling
    Multiple agreements

Hmmm, Creation and LoL have a habit of blaming one another and LoL have been known to gloss over some of the Creation fine details. I have a LoL thread where I specifically asked LoL about alternative methods of payments and they said no problem, whilst Creation insists that payment HAS to be made by DD and that it is a condition of the agreement...

But yeah, I should think that reclaiming PPIicon shouldn't be a major difficulty from that lot.

Apologies to people who I was in the process of helping, I may be gone some time.

    Hello Bookworm,

Thanks for your interesticon and your support. I have had previous and ongoing experience with creation finance (ie new name Lazer) and found then to be less than helpful. Try to shoot you down before take off You want to look at their website, very interesting in parts, ie touting for new brokers who will receive hefty commission on point of sale purchases

very interesting indeed a few years ago i brought double glazing from a well known glazing company this was paid for via first plus just found out it has had PPIicon added to it.

But what interests me more is if any commission was paid to the glazing company.

I have The co-op ppi to finish dealing with first and an up and coming court case with the MBNAicon so i will deal with these first then look into first plus then.

    Regards

    Hello Pompey

It is very interesting when they all have their finger in the pie, insurance company pay the lender for using them, the lender paying the broker and the poor borrower unaware
