Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Had to change my phone number due to DCA calls and not respecting letter of harassment.
Any how got new number and within hours had calls asking for george, these carried on and it turned out the number used to be some sort of business, so bt to be fair changed it pronto.
Got new number following day and received various calls for a pat and these people would not accept I was not pat even to extent of asking me to shut up and listen.
Rang bt again and they changed my number again.
Today with new number active a few days received a call from india and I decided to get my own back and make sure they dont want to call me again. This woman on a very very bad line was talking to me as if she knew me and said last time you got charged for going overdrawn you were not happy were you, I said nothing, she carried on hello, hello, we want to help you get your money back.
Any how I screamed down the phone with a constipated growel building up to ear peircing soprano and shouted go away. Then slammed the phone down.
I dont think they will ring again and I dont think I need to change my number again.
Hee Hee revenge is sweet.
However serious note, it appears a lot of these sales calls are comming from overseas and targeting areas we can do ourseleves and learn how to do it free on this site. Shady that letches target the slightest angle going eh.
Pretend to be deaf and see how many times the caller will repeat the same information before hanging up
Ask them to hang on for a second, place phone down (not on hook) and return five minutes later. If still there, ask "Are you still there?" When they say yes, respond "Mug!"
Ask "who are you again?" every 15 seconds or so
Ask if they wanna see your puppies every few seconds.
incidentally, I recently bought myself a new phone (landline) with they handy feature of being able to hear who is calling (call screening?) before answering. Quite handy and unobtrusive with a short message "HI! leave a message!"
I have a basic machine that lets you record outgoing message and incomming. I got into a bit of difficulty recently by clicking outgoing message and not 'and record'. Everyone got minutes of dilligaf and complained a strange australian man was not letting them leave a message
Took me a while to work out what was going on. I am a bit slow on the uptake, but had a little laugh when I worked it out.
Think I will turn it on again, as it does go on, but properly
Just had these weirdos ring again. I spoke to bt and they said as number witheld and foreign callers hard to do anything. They said it would be no good changin number as they would probably ring it as well. They reassured me the co. does not know who I am and it is random.
Hope the weirdos with the crap line enjoyed my scream down the phone. I now have a sore throat. Hope they still have eardrums left
Barclaycard phoned last week while I was watching a 'Chubby Brown' DvD, I just placed the handset to the TV speaker........they've not phone back since!!!
