Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi, I've been banking with HSBC ever since I started work etc... I don't know why I ever put up with bank charges, I've got really ****ed off with HSBC lately as I've made very strong efforts to pay off my overdraft and have explained this to them and purely wanted one pending £125 fee cancelled. I was willing to drop any other fees I've had in the past, but I have worked hard lately and can fully pay off my overdraft by about the 1st week of August.... thats if I don't get charged anyway... well, they won't cancel the fee, they talked to me like I as a 5 year old and didn't really listen to a word I said!! So.. I already knew a bit about this site and how you can claim back charges, and now I'm going for the lot..
I looked through quickly online and so far have totaled up £340 total, it's not much compared to every one else but an extra £340 will see me back in credit for the forseeable future! There may well be some more charges, I only looked quickly.
Anyway, I've started this thread after reading all the other success stories, I'll let you know how it goes.. I'm going to go and get the statements fully printed out tomorow so I can total them up properly, and then I will write out and print the appropriate letters and start the whole process!!
As soon as I get all my money back I am closing my account with HSBC and moving to smile.co.uk and hopefully staying out of my overdraft so this mess doesn't happen again
Hi, I've just looked through my account and can see £365 of "total charges" which I'm looking to claim for.
I have used the letter template and added the £365 requested in... but I don't really understand all this interest thing.. I kinda of understand that you can claim the interest charged and have downloaded the spreadsheet, I have added the interest and it only comes out to £13.81
Okay, so firstly, Breakdown of charges, is this purely the Date, type of charge and amount?
Do I need to send the interest details at this stage or is this unclaimable?
Advice would be great as I want to get this sent off tomorow.
Hmm just done a bit more reading and a few people are saying interest is hard to work out and claim for, it's only £13 so I might not bother including that?
Shall I just add the charge, date and amount to the bottom of my letter so they have the itemisation of charges?
i decided not to add the interest to my claim, but i made a point of telling them, i wrote: please note i am not adding the interest charged to my claim at this time. however i will add interest when submiting my claim to court.
kind of hoped it would make them offer me a better offer sooner rather than later! and it also make me sound incredibly reasonable when i just couldnt be bothered to calculate it!
Hi, I've got the letter ready to send, printing it off tomorow (as I don't have a printer here) and sending it off, as it's a small amount hopefully they will pay up quickly, but we'll see!!
Got a letter from HSBC today saying they won't admit any liability, however they are refunding me in full thanks!! handy sum of money to clear my overdraft FINALLY!!!
