Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Just a question which hopefully you can help me with, I have been given a wages cheque from my employer which is post dated till 24th December 2008 as they dont have funds avaliable just now. My question is if i pay the cheque ( An RBS cheque) to my rbs account in on the 24th December will I get the funds 3 days later even though its xmas day and boxing day?? The bank assured me today that it will still process even if its a xmas but my friend told me thats not the case!!!
It should just be treated as cash I think e.g. clears straight away. One of my previous employers had a similar problem once and we were assured that the monies would clear the same day that the cheque was paid in, which it did.
