    Default Cheque Clearing Process

Just a question which hopefully you can help me with, I have been given a wages cheque from my employer which is post dated till 24th December 2008 as they dont have funds avaliable just now. My question is if i pay the cheque ( An RBSicon cheque) to my rbs account in on the 24th December will I get the funds 3 days later even though its xmas day and boxing day?? The bank assured me today that it will still process even if its a xmas but my friend told me thats not the case!!!

    Any advice would be apprecaited.

    Thanks

It should just be treated as cash I think e.g. clears straight away. One of my previous employers had a similar problem once and we were assured that the monies would clear the same day that the cheque was paid in, which it did.

If in doubt I would check with the bank though.
