My partner, who is currently unemployed and claiming unfair
dismissal
has been having problems cancelling the PPI on his loan.
He has continually contacted Halifax
about the best way to cancel without incurring charges, ( I believe there should be no question of charges for cancelling PPI on a loan or credit card only questions about rebates and recovery of the premiums you have paid if you have a case for mis-selling against halifax you will need to gather all the information you can) however whilst two were helpful the other was very rude. It got to the point where the lady informed my partner that the payment HAD to be made regardless and that if he was claiming benefit, it could be paid out of this. He told that he was struggling to pay his
mortgage
and asked her if he should go and rob two old people on the street (not that he would)!!! She said it was up to him as long as it was paid!!!!
Eventually, I spoke to a nice lady today, who cancelled it and advised him to call their Money Advisers to set up an arrangement of as little at £5 per month, so that payment is still being made.
I have to wonder if these people really live in the real world!!
