    Smile Unfair PCN?

    Hi All,
I got a pcnicon today for being 'parked after the expiry of paid for time'.

I always leave my car at the station and then commute to work each day on the train. About once a month I have to stay away and leave my car overnight in the carpark (which is 24hrs) and pick it up as per normal after work the following day.

As I am unable to purchase a new ticket on the morning of the 2nd day I have always purchased 2 dailies on the morning of the 1st day and left them side by side on the dashboard.

Although they both say the same day on them (the first days date) I have still effectively paid for 2 days. I've done this for the last 2 1/2 yrs without a problem and have seen other people do the same.

Today it seems this isnt ok as I was issued with a PCN even though the 2 tickets were on the dashboard as per normal. I still have them and thanks to the fiddly new machines, they even have my reg plates printed on them so I can prove they both belong to me.

Where do you think I stand? Any else had similar problem?

    Thanks in advance!

Firstly who is the pcnicon issued by?

Can you please post the ticket so that it can be reviewed (minus personal details but including dates and times)

Technically you are in breach of the car park regulations in not displaying a ticket valid for that day and a defence of having always done it that way will not really cut it with a magistrate should it come to court (I tried that - honest sir I always travel up that bit of the m6 at 100 mph - never had a problem until now!!!)

If you read the car park t&c there is probably something about leaving vehicles overnight also - usually is to deter travellers from coming and parking there or people with camper vans using them as unofficial stopovers.

I think your best option would be to let us see the ticket and check to see if there is anything on it that makes it unenforceable (if it is a true PCN and not an invoice)

Opinions are offered in good faith based upon personal experience and research. Before making any irreversible decisions the opinion of a qualified, registered and insured legal professional should be sought.

That may be the case but the ticket is for staying beyond paid for time which is clearly not the situation.
