Default Liability for mis-sold PPI - seller or provider?

    Hi all

I'm looking at a mis-sold PPIicon situation on the grounds that I was told it was compulsory for the loan, and have written to the finance provider with all the details. They have replied saying that as they weren't at the point of sale, the company selling on their behalf are consequently responsible for any claim.

I'm happy to chase the seller, but is this correct?

    Thanks

    TB

You should chase whoever was there when they said it was compulsory, and cc the other party

    Hi there

Yes its the ones who actually sold you the loan/PPIicon.

I used to think it was the lender, unless of course it was the actual lender who arranged it for you, but the majority are brokers.

    Good luck.
