I got my wife's Barclays card statement recently and i was shocked. She got the barclaycard in 2005 for £260 credit limits only ,so she can have some information on her credit file. She has been paying ever since with one or two misses but to my suprise, her last statement still reads £268. Looking at the statement, she has been charged £12 every month for over limit and payment protection plan. Can we get all the charges back? I have read as lot on the forum but i am little confused about where to start. What is the first step?
Total charges as of july 2008 is £480.49 on a £260 credit limit, this include exceeded limit, late payment and payment protection plan charges. Can we make any claim on this?
Thank you for your reply. I have a copy of her statement from 2005(they r charging her £3 per copy...r these people real?). Do i need to request for the Subject access request or is it the same with the a/c statement.
Re the PPI, open a thread for this in the PPI forum - you can't include it with reclaiming the penalty charges.
If you have all the state's for the a/c going back to 2005, list them on a credit card spreadsheet. This will be your SOC or Schedule of Charges which you'll send to BC with your Prelim Letter.
If there are state's missing, you need to send BC a SAR with the £10 fee.

Thank you slick132. just made a call to them and they verbally promised not to charge the £3 per copy. where do i get the card credit spreadsheet .?.please.
I have the Preliminary letter and the credit spreadsheet, ready to send to barclaycard. Is there any speacial address to send it? please i need help fast. i am ready to take them on BIG TIME.
I got a reply from Barclays and i was offered £80 out of £383 i asked for. I am rejecting the offer and i am sending a letter soon. Do i continue to make repayment on my credit card or stop till i get my refund? What address do i need to send the rejection letter to or should i send to the same address as the first preliminary letter.
There's no need to withhold payment to the a/c - in fact you'll just incur further charges which you'll need to reclaim.
Send the Rejection Letter to their last correspondence address. It's only when you File a claim at court, that you must use BC's correct name and address in Churchill Place, London.
