Default Caught out by 15 minute free parking

Parked in the city center, paid for parking ticket and on returning was given a pcnicon by a CEO and informed I had overstayed the 15 minute free parking limit.
A few people could be caught out by one of those with parking meters being on the same street.
This could be another well thought out money spinner.

I dont understand - you say you paid and were ticketed for overstaying 15 min free - can you explain to me as if I was an idiot?

It was a free parking space, no payment necessary but only for 15 minutes. I can only assume it was a pick up and drop off place, for what I don't know.

I think what the OP means is that the parking is a pay and display. However there is also a bay for pick up/drop off where payment is not required with a 15 minute time limit. He bought a ticket but parked in this bay by mistake.

Ah yep. That would make sense. Let's see.
bit misled by the term 'parking meters' when possibly he meant p&d machines?

We live and learn, just miffed at being fined £50, must have been a while when it was like £30.
Must remember to check all signs before parking.

Why not scan in your ticket and a photo of the bays and signs.

Invalid bay markings are fairly common for a start and might invalidate the ticket.
