    Default court order 1985

Can a court order made against me in 1985 be enforced by a high court,it was for £30,000+?
Also if I go bankrupt will it be lifted?

A court order does not expire.

Section 24 (1) of the limitation acticon 1980 says:

An action shall not be brought upon any judgment after the expiration of six years from the date on which the judgment became enforceable

It has been held (seeLowsley v Forbes) that "action" here does not include execution of a judgement. However, I believe it is the case that the court's permission is required to enforce a judgment more than six years after it was made.

This web page Guide to Bankruptcy says:

You will only be released from a liability to pay damages for personal injuries to any person if the court thinks fit.
