Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
i went out to my car on friday morning and saw a note under my wiper blade, it stated that at aprx 20:00 hrs thursday evening a bus swiped the offside front of my car, it had the bus number and partial reg number, however the witness did not leave any contact details. I have been in touch with bus garage and they are checking buses cctv with similar reg numbers that were on that route around that time on thursay evening as the diver has not reported any incident.
My question is where do i stand if the bus co. says the cctv was not working or did not show anything. My car has damage to the door wing and bumper.I do not want to loose my ncd or have to pay excess when i know who is to blame.
Sorry you got missed
It wouldn't take too much effort to find out which bus it was as you have the approximate time the car was hit however without witnesses you would have a hard time proving who did it.
I'd report it to the police as failing to stop although the police may not do much.
The bus driver should have made attempts to find the driver and exchange details.
I'd ask around you close neighbours to see if they saw/heard anything.
There would be paint transfer on the bus and on your car.

i realise he may not know he has done it, however the damage needs to be repaired and i do not want to loose my ncd or have to pay excess, if it was a straight forward hit and run i would have to accept it but as i know the bus co. is responsible i feel they / their insurance should pay
