Wouldn't do the free installation until I said 'never mind then...bye'.... hee hee.
Package with Movies and Sport wasn't availiable for £23.50, but at £17 per month and every mix for just a pound.... I took them all minus the kids mix and the premium channels....so £21 a month, bargain.
She was very nice, and didn't even mind when I ran to throw up!

I have dispute with sky over dodgy box going wrong all the time . . and they have cancelled service coz of it . . .

Dear Sirs
As per you letter dated 15/11/08.
I no longer wish to correspond with you via telephone from this point.
I request all further correspondence to now be on paper.
If you call me any more, I will issue a harassment letter, requesting you do not.
The reason, as I have already told Sky twice, that I am not paying the outstanding amount, (it's £73 ish) is that for the period you have billed me, you have not provided the service you sold me.
The Sky box you gave me was defective. I told you about this many months ago and you sent out an engineer. He was to replace a defective hard drive in my box, as you termed it. He did not do this. He replaced the box with a used one, which turned out to be also defective.
When I rang and told you this, your response was that I would have to pay for another engineers visit, as my warranty period was up. The problem should have been fixed initially and wasn’t, so you are at fault.
The outstanding arrears are for these two periods, and will not be paid.
If you do not agree that this is the case, then I would gladly see you in court over the matter.
If you employ debt collectors, it will be at cost to yourselves, as I will not be liable for their services, as they would not be successful in recovering the debt. Now that you know this to be the case, if you pay for them, you will be knowingly wasting your own money.
If you take this matter to court, rather than acknowledging your fault and writing off the debt, then you will be liable for the court costs, as you would have instigated them.
I will be retaining the faulty equipment to present as proof of my position in court, should you decide to go down that route.
If you write the debt off, in writing, you can then pick up your equipment at your leisure.
P.S.
I have taken my business elsewhere and am paying less for the same service.

Ah.
Just seen this and understand why VM instantly increased our package and decreased our fees when DH phoned them earlier with a "we're thinking of moving to Sky, what can you do for us?"
Problem is I never really want to go back to Sky. Ever. They're awful. They make VM look fair and competent.

ERRRRRRRR bad experience ... first question they asked me what call centre my friend worked at .. what her name was .. how I got the number .. carried on as if order was still going through so took my details THEN said that number is a fraudulent one and Sky are investigating it they will be in touch with you shortly ...

most certainly, every year when my contract is up i ring them and tell them im moving provider. they will bend over backwards to keep your business, just remember to ask for exactly what you want or you WILL cancel.
this year i wanted a sky+ box in another room in the house, they replyed no problem that will be £99 being as your a existing customer. hhmmmmm, no still cancelling, they put me on hold for a second and come back with a price of £49. hmmmm no sorry still leaving, in the end i got the sky+ box and installation for FREE! be persistant

They can do but I won't be answering them
Got in there just in time! (I was in no fit state to make that call, but knew I should cease the window of opportunity)
They asked me loads of questions too, but as I was so unbothered about the outcome I just said the first thing that came to mind (which was 'I got the code of a forum') Is unbothered a word?...'tis now!
If they don't send me my vouchers or honour the booking, they won't hear the last of it. *polishes halo*

It is infuriating though. Yes, I will now get a better deal for less, which is great. But my overwhelming feeling is one of anger towards them, as I feel that I only got this by calling and threatening to leave, so what's wrong with keeping your existing customers happy and offering them decent deals pro-actively, instead of fleecing them every which way and concentrating on either poaching them from Sky or only offering them good deals when they complain or want to leave instead? It's customer service turned on its head, and creates little good will. The customer still feels he hasn't been treated properly and only got there by applying pressure on the supplier, instead of being given preferential treatment by being a faithful customer.

I'm with Virgin Media as there is no BT line in my home. I am paying £18 a month for the lowest 2MB Broadband yet, if I was a new customer, I would get 10MB Broadband for £4.50 a month for 12 months and then £9 a month after that. I am bound for 12 months but I will be switching straight after that unless they do me a deal.

I never have any luck with installations! 2nd floor, broken window and funny mini-roof at 45 degrees outside window & guy wanted to know about a communal dish and I didn't know the answer (as I had informed the woman on the dog)
But this guy was a star! was adamant to get it fitted... and I even managed to open the broken window (the heat I have pointlessly suffered for months!{storage heaters don't stop blowing heat out when you switch them off})
It was funny watching him hang out of the window! Revenge for waking me up at 8.00am
I could not resist asking him if had any bank charges (you know how it is).... then came the story of what his bank has done to him, it never ceases to amaze me just how many people just let them do it!!. Tough poo Mr bank, I got one.... Mr Sky left with SAR, CAG addy, and was excited to hear about CCA's, late fee, admin fee refunds etc.....
Hope he tells everyone in his office, damn bankers.

Well, we have SKY tv (full package) currently costing me just over £60/month cos we have multi-room. We've been with them for years. Phone & broadband connection is through Virgin Media. As a long standing customer again (originally Telewest Broadband) we are currently paying £42.20/month service charge for our broadband service (L) & telephone (exc. phone calls). I don't have a problem with the service I am receiving from either provider except for the fact that I am subsidising the cheap deals being offered to new customers. Why don't they reward me?
