Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have just received a parking fine for parking on double yellows, I was unloading but was away from car for about 10 mins. I accept that legally they are correct, however on the parking ticket they have put down my car colour as blue when it is actually green. Does anyone know if this is a technicality I can use to get out of it?
Not too sure on colour mistake, but as it pertains to the identification of your vehicle as per the allocation of the ticket, i wouldn't dismiss the possibilty of an escape out of the liability . . .
As per your accepting that they are legally correct - i would keep this to yourself
The section on the ticket that highlights the colour of the vehicle should be of consequence to the legality of the ticket - or else why would it be there . . .
Carry on looking into it and best of luck friend . . . Down with the traffic wardens, (get proper jobs, you monkeys!)
Sadly, colour is not a requirement. Possibly, if they had said white and your car was black, you might have a slim chance. You're going to need more than that to have any chance of success.
Why do you think that? Where were you and what were you doing?
I never can quite get to grips with what the forum name indicators mean - but, as far as i can see you've been viewing the thread since the outset - maybe not, maybe away but if you are watching could you answer the question please? Fairly straightforward.
Ideally, a full scan of the pcn can potentially help you as can pics of signage and road markings at the location.
At the very least, tell us which Council - we may know something.

Sorry, was away from computer. I had just unloaded some shopping at my mums place and stayed inside to chat for a few mins. Really quiet road, not a dangerous place at all.
I was under the impression if I was away from the car for more than 5 mins I could be ticketed?

I will see if I can scan the ticket in.

chatting not good - assisting Mum good, particularly if she has any kind of disability.
Contrary to popular belief ther is no time limit on loading unless specifically restricted i.e. Ldn red routes. loading takes the time that loading takes.
Equally ther is no allowance period really - discretional - but some DfT Guidance on it. If challenged and they want to be awkward Councils will always fall back on the actual legislation. In some circumstances no obs period needed at all - in others - 3-5 minutes maybe but whatever they say their policy is i.e. on website - you can't hold them to it.
Bottom line is that although it is reasonable to issue a pcn it should be cancelled if the circumstances can fairly explain it.
