Hi again everyone. What a fantastic site. Anyway took out a £4000 loan 2 years ago with ocean finance but got the loan thro swift, 2 months later i bought my house and paid the loan off, told my PPI company (premier writers) this and i got a refund of £54 yes £54 from the £750 which was added to my loan, i was self-employed at the time £696 for 2 months cover. I know its been 2 years but until finding this site there might be hope yet, many thanks in advance
A bit of a raw deal you have had there, i suggest the first thing you do is check the policy wording as in most cases self employed are excluded from cover.
If that is the case you can go for Mis-selling, at this point it would be a good idea for you to read the stickys at the top of the PPI forum to give you a better understanding of the mis-selling process.
Now you need to send a letter of formal complaint to ocean finance if you are lacking any documents that would assist you in making a claim you will need to send an S.A.R letter to Ocean Finance incude in the Letter the statatory £10 search fee that they can legally charge for documents.
Send this letter recorded/special delivery and get a reciept of posting.
You will find a PPI S.A.R letter template in the stickys, just edit to suit your needs.
