Tried to close my Abbeyaccount today, as i was fedup with the way they treated us.
the wife was in hospital fighting for her life a few months back. her diabetes was the cause of the problem. fighting a coma isn't a nice thing to do.
whilst she was in hospital for the week, i was left to carry on running my shop and visiting the wife and looking after the home.
i didn't manage to get and put any money in to the account to cover the bills that came out, so cancelled all direct debits with them.
managed to get a few of the charges dropped but still have about £75 of charges to pay for them paying out £7.52
was told by the manager of my branch that she cannot amend these charges or even accept the payment early. so meaning that on one of the charges im going to get interestadded as it was from last month. so cant close account.
so this surely means they can't do a manaul intervention. so sort of proves that all charges are computerised only.
walked out of the branch in the end and said see you in court for the £7.52.
whilst i was leaving i noticed that they are giving new customers £100 to move from exsisting banks. is this what the money from the government was intended for. how can they do this to the people of this country.
so what do exsisting customers get from them then.
totally disgusting for them to be giving money away when they don't have any to give away.
