    Well Well, At long last something is being done about the rip off...

    They say consumers will have no Protection, Maybe they should look at the amount of policies out there that have been Mis-Sold and the consumer already have no actual protection.

    With the 14 day bit it will surely stop the High Pressure selling of this product, I have nothing personally against PPIicon insurance, in fact I have 2 policies with an independent provider, and at a very reasonable cost too.

    Sale of Single Premium policies to be Banned, Well that will be a big bonus to consumers, These policies had to be the biggest rip off ever, Looking through the forums here too I bet over 80% of complaints about PPI are relating to this type of policy. When this happens though the lenders will no doubt try and find other ways to increase their profits.

    Halifax settled in Full.. 22/09/06
    TSB First Claim SETTLED IN FULL 19/10/06
    Second Claim to Lloyds TSB - Settled in Full
    Firstplus - early settlement interest charges - Challenged the use of the rule of 78 - SETTLED IN FULL 12/1/07
    PPI - GE Money / Purpleloans / Firstplus - Now Settled after 1 year long hard fight.

    really good news for consumers.

    BBA up in arms Excellent! No one wants to lose a £1.4b profit for their members for MIS-selling a useless product.

    The PPIicon mis-selling to the unwary finished. No more single premium policies Great. I used to get a monthly call from my friendly customer advisor offering to help me with my finances 7 times it ended up with me refinancing with single premium PPI attached every time and I have Pre existing medical conditions that were never discussed.

    Good riddance to PPI sold at point of sale.

    I have no legal training and the advice I offer is a matter of support. Before you commit to any Legal action you are advised to contact a qualified legal practitioner.

    Bank charge successes:
    Halifax - Full settlement incl interest.
     HSBC - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 75% of claim.
     RBS - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 70% of claim.
    2 ongoing claims for bank charges with HSBC with more to come. (Supreme Court ruling could have upset these claims) They did
    PPI Successes
     PPI 4 settlements on 9 loans. FOS involvement on 7 added on the 8 % Statutory interest another 30% to both.
    2 claims settled in full with LV without FOS involvement.
    2 claims settled in full with HSBC without FOS involvement

    PPI Claims ongoing with:
    Cap one Now with the FOS
    Barclays. Paid up today 24/04/10 cheque received for over £4,500 and in the bank.
    LTSB still have to decide on this as their SAR production was abysmal. Papers data mixed up documents missing etc

     1 Complaint not upheld by FOS they said it was ICO issue. Complaint upheld by ICO. See this..

    Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
