Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.

Where do I start
Someone has somehow got hold of my credit card details (I'm with Abbey) and has purchased something from ebay - I do NOT have a ebay account, I've never used eBay in my life.
So I got in touch with Abbey and they refunded the fraudulent transaction, blocked the old card and sent me a new card.
Here's the problem - please HELP  - The fraudster has purchased something which was charged on my old, blocked card with a "Recurrent Transaction", so the first months payment was refunded because I disputed it, BUT the "recurrent transaction" has moved to my new card, meaning I will have to pay monthly payments to eBay for god knows how long .
I got in touch with Abbey disputing the transaction again, however, they say there is nothing they can do because it is a "recurrent transaction", a monthly direct debit has been set up with eBay . I have tried to contact eBay, but they are impossible to deal with, they don't have telephone contact, they only deal with people through emails. They are not helpful. Abbey is not helpful
I cannot afford to pay monthly payments, what do I do? How do I get Abbey to stop the recurrent transaction? How do I prove this is fraud? Please HELP? What are my rights?
Can I just cancel the credit card as I don't owe any money on it, it just sits in my draw, the only money owed is the damn eBay fraud money.
I'm no expert, but the old card number has been blocked, making payments on that card impossible. The new card details will be different to the old one. There should be no way the new card has been compromised (unless the fraudster got to your new card before you did). Abbey have a duty of care once the fraud has been reported.
On the old, blocked card a "recurrent transaction" was set up (like a monthly direct debit). When someone gets the new card, the balance from the old card moves to the new, in this instance, the "recurrent transaction" the fraudster set up has moved to the new card.
Btw...I owe 0 on the card, it's been sitting in my safe, untouched.
I asked Abbey can you contact ebay and speak with them, they said no, I have to do that! I was like WTF! That's not right is it??? Surely it's their job???
Someone on another thread told me to contact the Police - I read on a website the police don't deal with cc anymore! Is that true?
What about CAB? Does anyone know where Abbey's call center is - I'm in the mind frame of making a trip to see them, I need to speck with someone face to face, dealing with them on the phone is no good, they just wanna make life easy for them selves.
I was thinking of going to my local Abbey branch, but I don't see how they can help me with this? Won't they just twll me to phone the call center?
