    Default PPI advice for firstplus

    Hi all,

Can anyone enlighten Me as to what is going on with First Plus and the FSA with regard to PPIicon claims. Are they on hold?

We took our loan 2 years ago and are due our PPI rebate in 3 years time of around £9k, does anybody actually gey this rebate?

Our finnancial life is a little fragile at the moment to say the least, we are in a dmpicon with cccs. Is it possiple to reclaim this PPI rebate early? what is the best way to go about this? and has anybody had any success with this?

We are not in a situation to pay off our Loan with First Plus. How would a rebate affect our monthlly payments? are rebates sent as a payment in the form of a cheque or deducted from the current loan.

Some further advice would be really apreciated. Thanks for your experinces and advice on this.

    Kind regards.

I am no expert but the advice I was given was to send a SARicon's request to Firstplus see templates along with a £10 cheque which they must respond to within 40 days. Once you receive this information you can request a refund etc. but please read someone elses threads for more information.
I am in the same position as you but have not yet set up a dmpicon but am thinking of doing so. My loan was taken out with Firstplus in May 2007 and my refund is due in 2012. I want it back now and stop the monthly PPIicon payment.

    Hi Nobbymyles

It is possible to cancel your PPIicon at any time and stop paying it (it is a compulsory product after all) and the Terms & Conditions of the loan and the PPI element should state your rebate entitlement if any, and the amount you can receive.

However, sometimes the interesticon on the PPI continues for the lifetime of the loan and in this way, the lender is still ripping you off!!

Do you have the original documentation for the loan? Application Form, T & Cs, Credit Agreement? Do you feel that you were fairly sold the product or mis-sold?

I too think that the best starting point is to send your SARicon to the lender. If you feel that PPI has been mis-sold, then you can go for the whole amount plus the interest charged.

Don't forget, once you have received the documentation from the SARicon, you can begin the process of reclaiming your money ... you don't have to wait for any potential ruling from the FSA.

Any advice given is purely on the basis of my own views and opinions and offered in good faith.
