Wait and see what info they give you. the rbs are not renowned for parting with information easily and do like to give you the runaround It will be interesting to see if they comply with a copy of your credit agreements

You have made the right start send SAR and CA request.
RBS will no doubt make life as difficult as they can. However I believe they have made internal decisions to try and settle early rather than face Court and/or fos every complaint the FOS deal with costs RBS £450.
Things seem to point that way as they are making goodwill gestures left right and centre without admission of liability probably due to the recent fine against Alliance and Leicester by the FSA of £7m.
They I believe would rather pay out lots of little payments which will probably never reach £7m rather than a huge fine and it could be bigger than £7m next time.
If you are not happy with the response to your CA request within 14 days or the SAR within 40 days then bang in a complaint to the ICO, FOS, FSA, OFT and anyone else that comes to mind.
Do not be put off by the length of this thread and if you can use any information from it to your own advantage please help yourself.

HSBC - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 75% of claim.
RBS - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 70% of claim.
2 ongoing claims for bank charges with HSBC with more to come. (Supreme Court ruling could have upset these claims) They did
PPI Successes
PPI 4 settlements on 9 loans. FOS involvement on 7 added on the 8 % Statutory interest another 30% to both.
2 claims settled in full with LV without FOS involvement.
2 claims settled in full with HSBC without FOS involvement
PPI Claims ongoing with:
Cap one Now with the FOS
Barclays. Paid up today 24/04/10 cheque received for over £4,500 and in the bank.
LTSB still have to decide on this as their SAR production was abysmal. Papers data mixed up documents missing etc

Keep them on their toes as you say fools it is quite an appropriate word to use. Do not let them fob you off. Make them work for their money while some of them still have a job
You decide the timing. I have just received a special paid envelope yesterday with yet more information re my Subject access request dated 7 Jan 2008. The Information Commissioners Office has obviously been less than pleased with them after my complaint about their failure to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998.
So I now have a further mound of paperwork to sift through even though they settled payment in December 2008.
I wonder if I can perhaps submit more claims as a result

If you still have problems with RBS use the ICO route again as with your other thread. Again if they have taken the money £10 SAR statutory fee and not supplied the data hit them with a very serious formal complain via the ICO but also let the FSA know what is going on. The FSA are about to grow second teeth after the recent condemnation of them not regulating as well as they should have done so a complaint to them should also make RBS take note.

They asked me for dates and times of phone calls (can you believe it)
I've sent them a response i think you can guess what it says i've already complained to the ico about there non compliance to my sars

Yes been there done that got the T shirt but apparantly they can ask this.
My response was send tapes or transcripts of all calls.
That way you do not forget a call that might be important.
The response I got was we do not record all telephone calls. I never did get tapes or transcripts of any calls and my guess was they would be too incriminating against RBS.
