Default Firstplus PPI Will I have to repay loan

My Husband and I have a loan with first plus which was taken out in sept 06. The loan was for £51,000 and payment protection was £10,500. We are thinking about claiming the payment protection back but are a little concerned that firstplus might say that we have to repay the loan. How likely is this to happen..any ideas???

    Hi SarahP

You will have a set of Terms & Conditions attached to the loan which both the lender and the borrower should adhere to. You will also have signed a credit agreement that sets of the length of time over which the loan is spread. This is usually set out in months, for example 60 months or five years (yours may be longer or shorter). The lender cannot suddenly 'call in the loan' just because you are making a complaint about mis-selling. This would be deemed as retaliatory action, and you are protected against this.

Have a look at this link PPI which will help you to decide how the lender has failed to treat you fairly and mis-sold the PPI.

Can you tell us a bit more about the loan, how it was sold to you and why you believe you have been mis-sold the PPI?
