    Default Ppi Claim Against Capital One - Gone To Financial Ombudsman, Please Help!

    I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who has got further in their claim than me?

    I started a claim against Capital Oneicon, months and months ago. I have followed the guidelines, and Capital One gave me a final letter to say they would not be refunding me at all, and offered for me to contact the Financial Ombudsmanicon.

    I have submitted my claim with the FO ages ago - as they are snowed under at the moment, I have already had two of their letters (roughly two months apart each) to say they are very sorry in the delay in passing my case to the adjudicators etc.

    My question is - because I can't find the answer to this anywhere - is it worth me contacting Capital One again and telling them that I am in contact with the Financial Ombudsman? Like sending a letter to let them know that the case has been passed to them?

    Any help would be great.

    Morning Frankie

    You won't need to contact cap oneicon as part of the process that the fosicon go through from you escalating your complaint to them, is to initiate contact with the lender and go through the case and evidence from both sides in order to decide whether your claim should be upheld. This does take time.

    You need do nothing, although I know from experience that if something takes months and months to resolve, it is tempting to feel that either nothing or not enough is being done.

    The FOS are really snowed under at the moment. I rang them the other day and had a good long chat with a chap there and he confirmed this for me.

    Please also remember that Cap One is one of the lenders who have recently been fined by the FSA for poor practices in PPIicon selling and not treating their customers fairly. This, I believe, is your trump card, so just have a little patience, as the song goes ...

    Have posted on here a few months back. I have just had my claim against Capital Oneicon upheld by the fosicon.

    I will warn you that this has taken 8 months of waiting but, boy is it worth the wait.
