    Default NHS agenda for change

Two questions that I cannot seem to get a definitive answer to -

Unsocial hours payments and overtime issue - when doing overtime should I get the unsocial hours payment as well. EG doing overtime on a Sunday - paid at time and a half, should I get the unsocial hours premium of 0.6 that I would get if I was rota'd on that shift as well? The Agenda for change handbook isn't clear on this. My payroll says no but someone in HR says yes....union rep unclear. In effect I get less for doing overtime than if I had been rota'd on that shift.

I have two contacts with two departments totalling full time. If I do overtime for one department should this be paid at overtime rates as my combined hours equal full time. I've been waiting three months to get an answer on this from HR. (I do a lot of overtime for both posts).

    Hi

I too work for NHS and have been having problems over pay. I have been told the issue is to be dealt with by HR and then payroll do what HR tell them too.

Have you tried writing to HR and asking for clarification?

Personally I get the impression the whole thing is so complicated they are all confused by it and ultimately no one whats to take responsibility for the decision making.

I emailed HR - who said that I should get the unsocial, payroll said no, HR then said the Agenda for Change handbook says you don't - however it doesn't say that it just doesn't comment on it. HR say they are seeking senior advice on the overtime issue but it two months now since I raised it...

In last months salary I got the unsocial and overtime rates but in this months it was back to basic for the overtime although they did pay the unsocial - left hand and right hand syndrome I think.

All I want is the correct pay for the work I do, and not to worry that they will reclaim any pay in the future.

I could do with a contact at NHS employers (they won't deal with individual queries) - any ideas?
