this arrangement is a joke considering what main dealers charge.
all it was, was a chaffed wire in the gear box sensor.

Depends when and where you bought it; usually best to take any faults back to the dealer you purchased it from and get them to sort it. If you bought it recently you would be covered by SOGA.
By finance company do you mean warranry supplier and no, you usually get authorisation from them first and they pay the garage direct if they accept responsibility which they usually dont!
