Default Hi all, tv licence court appearance/fine question

Hi all, I have recieved a court summons for not having a tv licence . I think i will plead guilty by post to avoid going to court, but how much am I likely to get fined? I know its up to £1000, but whats the average fine? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I see everyone is avoiding this thread like the plague. lol

I think any fine would depend on your personal circumstances. Before attending though, I would buy the license and appeal to their better nature (if it exists) and let them know of any circumstances (unemployment, redundancyicon, funeralicon expenses....etc..etc) that prevented you having a license in the first place.

A lot of it will depend upon how long you have been without a licence and how quickly you got one etc.
