Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Not only does it stink - it should also be a warning.
I went on line to do a car insurance quote, obviously didn't read the small print saying they would do a credit check....
Everyone should be aware that tthis could happen just for getting a quote!
Anyway, why do they need to do a credit check for giving a quote? I could understand it if they offered credit terms, even then if you don't pay the insurance they could just tell you that your no longer covered!
Coming from a car insurance back ground, we used to advise callers that we do a credit check. If they objected, no problem, we ticked the box on screen but they couldn't then pay by direct debit. The insurance company should inform you that a check will be carried out, and they should also make it clear that the check should leave no "foot print". hope this helps
