Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
my partner has jsut been checking his debits and got some PPI through our new mortgage company last year. Having asked for a copy of the terms he's realised that although he is classed as self-employed he actually 'subs' for someone and has done fro about 5 years - our accountant works out the tax returns.
Hes called the company tonight to check if hes covered cause the boss has been 'laying people off ' and so as technically he wouldn't go bust as such they said he wouldn't be covered for unemployment benefit so i'm thinking we've been paying a debit to this company for nearly 2 years for nothing! The company said that he was sold the package through our mortgage company!
You have a copy of the PPI POLICY there if so id first check the exclusions if it says on there that self employed are not covered you need to get the ball rolling to get this back.
First we need some more info on your PPI was it a single premium policy or is it paid monthly with your mortgage payment.
Was your mortgage purchased direct from a building society or bank or was it brought via a broker.
Please supply as much info as possible minus any personal details and figures and we on CAG can help you to get the ball rolling.
