Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
My permit fell on the floor in my work car park run by UKCPS and I promptly got a ticket.
They say I have 7 days to appeal but must include payment and they will then give me a refund. Should I include the payment as the total might go up?!?
Also, I just logged on to their site and the number plate they have down for this ticket is actually the wrong - only by mistaking a 2 for a Z but still wrong. where do I stand?
First this is a PPC invoice, not a pcn.(See stickies at the top of the forum) Second with wrong registration details they won't be able to trace you via the DVLA. Ignore it.
one more thing - if i just ignore them and somehow they do find out my address and i still ignore them to the point of them issuing letters from debt collection agencies - would this affect my credit rating?
No - read the stickies. thats just rubbish they spout to mislead you and trick you into paying. You would need an unpaid court judgment for that to be valid but they don't mention that do they ? As they donlt mention it and are misleading you have look at this The Consumer Protection From Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 No. - especially regulation 7 - and write a complaint to Trading Standards.
All have you received is an invoice from a private company. They have no powers to do anything, especially since you already have a permit. Private companies have no powers to fine anyone.

There is no appeals process. You will never get your money back. As if a private company is going to turn down profit and give it back!
• do not pay
• do not contact them
• ignore any letters you receive
• they will give up and go away after 5 or 6
If they have the wrong reg number, they won't be able to get your address anyway.
you guys really know your stuff! really appreciate all your help - feel much more passionate about stopping these b******s now - so I'll be preaching to everyone!
hey guys,
so UKCPS have contacted me re: the ticket I got above. Should my next step be to just ignore them, or write one time saying please don't contact me again?
Wow, we haven't seen peternet on the forums for ages! (wasn't it a relief)
Needless to say ics2s3b, peternet works of rthe PPC so his advise is somewhat suspect as he would like you to contribute to his forthcoming Christmas binge.
