Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I CCA'd HFC in June/July and today a CCA has turned up dated September 2004. I bought a computer and the original agreement was taken out in 2000, but in 2004 the agreement was changed to a loan and so new papers were needed as it was a new agreement. The CCA looks all legit but there is a problem. The signiture on it is wrong. I changed my name legally in December 2003 and never used my previous signiture after that, and certainly not 10 months later. The original paperwork signed in 2000 would have had my signiture as it appears on this CCA on it, but I know beyond any doubt that this CCA dated as it is wouldn't have, it would have my details and signiture on it as it is now. I am suspecting that this has been doctored to show my original signiture from 2000. Help.
My fight:
NDR - CCA'd 12+2 passed
Bank of Scotland - CCA'd 12+2 passed
CFS - Win by Technical Knock-out!
HFC Bank - CCA'd 12+2 passed
Chantry Collections - CCA sent

You could ask to inspect the original of the copy supplied at their local office. If they refuse, it's tantamount to an admission that either they don't have the original or they have doctored it as any creativity would be easily apparent.

I need to write to them. I have no idea how to put this in a letter. Anybody have any suggestions?

Thank you for your letter of xx/xx/xx and enclosure. I have serious concerns regarding the signature on this document. In order to confirm or deny these concerns, I need to see the original of this document.
I would suggest that arrangements are made for myself and my legal advisor (this doesn't have to be a solicitor, it could be your next door neighbour so long as you take a witness) to inspect this document at your local office.
I look forward to hearing from you shortly.
Amend to suit.
