Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have just received a letter from HBOS stating that they accept that PPI should not have been applied to my Halifax CC. Originally this was a BankOne CC, then RBS then Halifax. When Halifax took over RBS they started applying PPI even though the original agreement didn't have the PPI box ticked. Since then my CC account has been passed to Blair Oliver etc and is in default. On the Halifax letter they say that they will credit my CC account if I hold one, I would prefer a cheque as I will not be able to access the account. Can I insist that they send a cheque rather than offsetting the CC account?
i would send a letter stating that you want to be put back in the position you would have been had the PPI not been applied i.e the money back in my pocket and not theres.
