If you have no record of these accounts, i.e., paperwork.documentation, you could send a SAR giving as much personal information as possible relating to yourself, together with as much information relating to the loans as you have (dates taken out, etc). I have tried this in the past and it proved problematic, so then had to put my thinking cap on and come up with something else ...

As the above proved difficult, I came up with this method: I looked through my bank statements and where payments were made to the organisations in question, I made a note of the dates. I then contacted my bank and gave them the payment dates and asked them to trace the account numbers through these.

My bank (the Cooperative Bank) were willing to do this after some friendly persuasion on my part. It meant them going back through old records, but it is possible and, in my view, the best option.
