I hit a foreign object on the motorway resulting in extensive damage to my car.

I’ve lost my NCD, and policy excess through no fault of my own, I contacted the insuraance legal department, who informed me as no one has been traced then it’s classed as an act of god, is this correct?

I’ve contacted the Highways Agency and they state they are unable to trace where they foreign object came from.

Is there any organisation I can contact to claim the financial losses I’ve suffered?

Unless the debris came of an identifiable vehicle, or was deliberately put there by an identifiable person(s) or that the Highways Agency knew or ought to have known of the debris and had the ability and time to remove it then I believe it will be a claim against your own policy.

Remember that your policy is a contract to repair your vehicle in the event of damage. It is not a contract dependant on who is to blame - liability is separated from your won damage claim.

I'm afraid it's just one of those things
