Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
His wife left her place of employment after giving them 8 weeks notice (as per contract)
Following her departure (After the 8 weeks), she got paid for a further 2 months even she was not working there.
A year later, they are chasing this payment up.
Now for a slight twist, 2 years ago, the same thing happened to her when she worked there previously and that time, they carried on paying for 3 months!
Then she left, got another job, and then left that going back to the previous one and this is the problem at hand.
What would be the outcome?
Is it a case of, 8 weeks notice was given, contract signed off and she had her termination concluded from the company or...is she still liable to give it back.
I dont know the ins and outs for instance, why she did not report it when the statements came in - Could be a number of things surrounding that ie: holidays, busy, not opening bills/statements (I know I try and avoid it sometimes!) so we won't go into that if it is not needed.
Thanks all... I might be slow in replies as I'm the middle man so I will be communicating here and with the guy who's wife this issue is with.
