I hope I have posted this in the correct section of the forum.
I have cancelled what I recently discovered was PPIinsurance on my mastercard credit card. I feel rather foolish about the whole situation as I have had this card for so long and and paid the credit card in full every month on time without paying interest
, and had assumed that the amount labelled 'Insurance Premium' on my statements was for insurance to cover theft or fraud.
After making a call to the bank to establish exactly what the insurance premium was - they confirmed it was with the Norwich Union and and as instructed cancelled it immediately.
I made a request to the Bank for the original credit card application form, to see exactly where I had requested PPI, and they have responded with 'we cannot find the application and appears to have got lost during branch relocations' !!
Would I have a valid claim after paying the insurance premium for so long - i believe to be around 20 years?
PS
I also have my mortgagewith the same Bank - Northern Bank and don't even have PPI for the mortgage
. !!
