Hi guys,
following a succesful fight against Barclays last year, I've come to the conclusion that I enjoyed the fight and need the money.
I'm getting the usual letters from Mercers demanding payment and a ridiculous amount of calls from them, even at work despite never having given them that number.
I sent off the harrasment letter last week and received a reply from Barclaycard saying that they are upset that I'm unhappy
And they promise to sort it out by Oct 23rd. However, in the same post, I also received another letter from Mercers with the usual threats followed a few minutes later by another call from them.
I don't even bother having my house phone plugged in unless I'm making a call.
Whilst the calls and theats don't bother me and whilst I fully acknowledge that I am in arrears, I'm not taking their rubbish.
So what do I do now? Do I send off for the CCA, if so, how do I go about this? Or do I go straight to reclaiming unfair charges?
Copy the letter to BC for their information and tell BC, if they continue to harass you with demands and phone calls, you'll report them and Marcers to Trading Standards, the fos and OFCOM, for breach of the OFT Guidelines on debt collection.
If you don't have statements for the a/c, you can consider sending them an S.A.R - (Subject access request). Wait to see if a Credit Agreement comes back first.

Barclaycard like to use the Mercers angle to pretend things are serious by using the nasty words debt collector. But, as many have pointed out, the Mercers Staff and Barclaycard Staff are usually one and the same people, or at the very least, are sitting in the same Office.
Both are part of Barclays Bank plc, so I'd advise that you cut out the Monkey and send it straight to the Organ Grinder.
