Hi
Would appreciate some guidance, got a loan with Halifaxback in 2003 with PPI
, found out I could have it removed so did so end of 2004 but was told that I would have to sign a new agreement which I did to get lower payments.
I wrote to them a year ago requesting refund based on cancelling PPI which was added to the loan as a lump sum payment, not suprisingly they said no. I have asked the fosto investigate them as a seperate matter and forgot about the PPI issue, I have just found out that you can also claim it back if they say you have to take the loan out and/or they tell you it limits your chance of getting the loan if you apply without PPI.
Halifax told me I'd probably not get the loan with out their PPI when I took it out but I took this as gospel and didn't realise this was a basis to reclaim, if I did I would have added it to the original request for refund last year.
Do you think I stand a chance or will I be told to get lost by the judge if I took it to court? I honestly didn't realise that you could request on this basis otherwise I would have included on my original letter.
