I have a standing order of £100 coming out of my RBScurrent account tomorrow but I only have £85 available in tha account. I have called RBS and they said they can ony cancel a Standing order 3 days prior to the payment date.
Considering the payment is to my parents RBS account of the same branch, I refuse to believe that, in this day and age, 24 hours is not enough notice to cancel a computer transaction.
Is there anything I can do or am I going to have to accept that I'll be charged £50(or whatever RBS get away with nowadays) for an unauthorised overdraft?
Any help would be much appreciated.
