Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
In relation to a parking fine issued by the London Borough of Newham, which Ting has been helping me with (http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...tending-2.html), I have received a Breakdown of the charges CCS currently, unjustifiably, have on my "account." (I place the word account in quotation marks as I have already paid the fine last year"
If anyone can shed some light I would be really grateful:

With respect to the fees that you have incurred, I must inform you that these charges have been calculated in accordance with the autority of the Recovert of Road Traffic Debts (certificatedbailiffs) Regulations 1993 [1993/2072(L17)](as amended 2003). These charges represent the cost of enforcement action since the Warrant was first issued to CCS Enforcement Services Limited on 4th October 2007. The breakdown is as follows:

TOTAL £355.26
These fees are justified, legal, and in line with both current legislation as set down by the Ministry of Justice, and the code of practice agreed between CCSES and its client....
I trust that I have addressed your concerns, however should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at the address shown below.

Can anyone suggest steps here? What is "Van" and £114.50?!?!?!
Have just realised that the date on this warrant is 4th October 2007. This warrant therefore EXPIRES on saturday 4th October 2008.
It is almost unheard of for a bailiff co to have waited nearly one year to enforce this pcn.
Have you spoken with TEC to confirm the name and address on the Warrant. I would suggest doing this asap.
Their number is 08457 045 007.
As above, also check whether the Warrant they have sent you is a PE9 that refers to CPR75 and not to CCR48B? Please keep hold of it and find a way washing it,scanning an uploading it if you can.

Huh? Are you saying that a warrant EXPIRES after 12 months? What (legally and in practical terms) happens after that then? The reason I ask is I still have bailiffs chasing me for unpaid PCNs which are well over a year old!
I only mouth my opinion, please look elsewhere for sensible advice!
