Default Have I got a leg to stand on...?

Hi Everyone, been reading ur posts on here and u seem a great bunch of pple that give even better advice.

I had a loan on with A&L for £7,500. I was told at the time of applying for the loan that I would not be eligible if I did not take out the payment protection (Dont know If I have this in writin, prob not but I was most certainly told this on the telephone), which I agreed to. I settled the loan early in June 2007 and the account has now been closed. Could I still make a claim....?

    Thanks Guys

When did you actually take out this loan if you don't mind me asking? thanks.

    Hi there

    Okay thanks hun.
Your eligible to reclaim this PPIicon back hun plus interesticon.

Even though this is paid off they should put you back in the position as if you did not have the ppi, so everything that was paid in this as it would have been to settle the loan you should get back.

There should be a template on this site, if your unable to find it, just give us a yell hun.

You need to write and tell them that you were pressured into taking the ppi in order to be accepted for the loan.
And of course you may not have been eligible, so as long as you have not made a claim on this hun, such as when on the sick etc, then you have no problem.

They should reply to you within 8 weeks of your complaint, send your letter off by recorded post to keep an eye on the tracking for this on the royal mail website.

If you get no joy let us know we will guide you to the next step, so keep at them.

Also tell them on the letter that you expect them to refund you the full amount of payment protection insurance plus stat interest you will prepare to take this to the financial Ombudsmanicon service.

All the best hun and feel free to post anytime.

You can go for the statutory interesticon at 8%, or the contractual rate i,e the rate they charged you does not take much thinking i know what id go for.
