Default What Action Should I Take?

Ok, Sent DPA for all information regarding my Credit Card account with the HSBCicon on the 30th May. There time is now up but i don't think that sending them the 7 day reminder is going to work in this case :o The reason being for this is due to the fact that i have repeatly tried chasing this up for a week or so now. I got knocked pillar to post and wondered if this might be the reason why HSBC wanted to get me off their back with the bank charges that i was claiming for and instead decided to wipe my loan off, or maybe that was just a coincidence. Now i have asked loads of HSBC staff and noone can see the credit card details that i had with them. I had a bit of trouble as i didnt have the credit card number so they went through my account and it wasnt there then they tried doing searches and nothing came up. Well a few days ago i found some old statements, and rang them up and they still couldnt find it on the system even with the credit card number. He said he will get this chased up and they will have to do a paper trail on the card. Well gets a phone callicon this morning, but i was on the road driving and couldnt hear her very well, but the short of it is they went looking and still cant find it and she wanted to make sure i gave them the correct card number.(Which is right)

So where do i go from here with it as they have no records of it on the system. the card finished last july i think it was but cant be sure on the exact time as they dont have any records.

I was going to work out how much they have charged me over the last 3 to 4 years since i had the card but i wont be able to do an exact figure now or prove it, but then again neither will they be able to.

So question is where do i go from here and how shall i work out how much they owe me? If my charges on my account have anything to go by i can assure that my credit card charges wont be far off

Now that you have found old statements, you have proof that the a/c exists.
If they can't find it thats their problem and if they really can't find any trace of it, they won't be able to dispute any estimated figure.

I'd send a DPA non- compliance letter from the library and enclose photocopy of a statement
