Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have two phones. One for my wife and the other for myself. My wife's one has always been on vodafone and I on T-Mobile. An upgrade was due on my wife's phone so I called vodafone to 1) get a good deal on her phone 2) Transfer my number to a Vodafone monthly contract with the idea of also getting a good deal.
I made it clear that I had to be satisfied with both deals for me to go ahead with it. Anyway, I went ahead once I had been satisfied with what they had to offer. 1) was carried out no problem. However, 2) wasn't. Instead of getting a new phone with a monthly contract, I receive a PAYG sim card telling me my number was successfully transferred(!).
I rang up Vodafone and was told they couldn't offer me the deal agreed over the phone (they could identify the employee who I originally spoke to about the new contracts, but wouldn't tell me).
What are my options considering they welched on their side of the bargain? My wife has received the phone for 1), but i don't see why I should have to fork out money to send it back, not to mention the hassle of all of this.
Most company record phone calls for training and for security. Try a S.A.R for the recording of it, give them the date time and any thing else you can think of, I have read on here about others getting hold of that stuff so try to find the thread. In case they dont have a recording also ask for any thing with your name on it, get your wife to do the same if the contracts are seperate, include in this all transripts of phone calls that the call centre staff is supposed to type in to the computer. They write down the details of the calls for easy future reference so these should be linked in to your files somewhere. best of luck
thanks for the help. I rang them up threatening to leave altogether - i.e. return my wife's upgrade and go to another network. That concentrated their mind and managed to get what was promised to me in the first place.
